                                        Pithoragarh is a small town in Uttarakhand state. it is also a district of Uttaranchal in Kumaon region. Pithoragarh situated at the height of 1851 meters in a valley. The place is also known as “Little Kashmir” of Uttarakhand. Pithoragarh is idyllic city and perfect destination for mountaineers, trekkers, adventure seekers, botanists, pilgrims as well as sightseers. Modern Pithoragarh
Pithoragarh district was previously the part of Almora district of  Uttarakhand.  Pithoragarh was created as a separate district in 1960. In 1997 a new district of Champawat was carved out by reorganizing its boundaries.
